MEET VANESSA

I am an admitted attorney, notary, and conveyancer practising in Sunningdale, Cape Town. I embarked on a transformative journey into law in 2012 after a successful 20-year career in commerce. My career trajectory spans three decades, merging corporate and legal spheres. This hybrid experience has afforded me a unique and instinctive understanding of my clients’ needs, the law and its practical applications. I recognise the frustration of grappling with legal issues, having once been on the other side of the boardroom table.

I took the bold step of pursuing my Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2012. I joined Neilsons Attorneys as a candidate attorney in 2013 and painstakingly acquired new skills in the the legal realm while studying towards my LLB. I obtained my LLB degree in 2017 and was admitted as an Attorney in 2018. I continued my studies and was admitted as a Notary Public and Conveyancer in 2019. Furthermore, I have the Right of Appearance in the High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court.

I took another bold step in 2023 and formed V Thomas Attorneys. I strive to empower my clients by demystifying the complexity of the law into plain, workable concepts thereby enabling them to make the best decisions in their matters.

I am currently serving on the CTAA (Cape Town Attorneys Association) executive committee for the second consecutive year and serve on the Deeds Office and Master of the High Court subcommittee portfolios.
